Piano and Composition Studio Information
Overview
Welcome to my studio! Private lessons, for piano or composition, are designed to guide you through your learning journey and personal obstacles. Lessons are weekly and last 30 minutes for beginners and children, 45 minutes for intermediate students, and 60 minutes for composition and intermediate to advance piano students.
Expectations
Practicing: Students should strive to practice each day. I will recommend a time amount per practice based on the student's ability. This is important to the growth of the musician. You must attend every weekly lesson (this is important to the growth of any musician). Ask questions if you need help and try your best.
For students under 13: During lesson time the parent of the minor must be present during their lesson.
For students 13 and over: Recommended that parents are present. If the student will not be chaperoned their must be a written agreement and waiver for the student that will be provided on request. (This choice will be under teacher discretion)
Attendance Policy
Attendance is required on a weekly basis. This is to help with consistency, and in turn, your growth as a musician or composer. Each student is allowed one excused absence per term (3 months). For an excused absence, I must be notified with a minimum of 24 hours before the lesson. An excused absence can be made up by scheduling a make-up lesson under my discretion or credited to your account. Unexcused absences forfeit their lesson for that week with no tuition refund.
If I must miss a lesson that lesson due to illness or an act-of-god, the lesson fee will be credited to your account for the next month of lessons, or if possible, a make-up lesson will be scheduled.
Lesson Fees
Lesson fees includes weekly lessons throughout one month. Payment can be cash, check, and Zelle. All payments are due on the first of every month. Payments not received during the first seven calendar of the month will receive a late fee of $15 dollars.
60min Lessons - $55/lesson
45min Lessons - $45/lesson
30min Lessons - $35/lesson
Students do have the option to request in-home lessons for 60min lessons within the Greater Portland Area. There will be an additional $20 dollar charge per lesson to cover travel time and expenses.
Termination of Lessons
A 30-day notice for termination is required to end lessons. Payment is required through the 30-day period
