Piano
Nickalus began studying classical piano in 2003. Nickalus began teaching children while attending highschool and since then has taught piano to people of all ages and skill levels from young children to adults returning to their instrument or learning for the first time. Their experience is in classical piano, however, Nickalus warmly accepts any type of music their students want to learn. Nickalus believes the most important part of being a teacher is passing on the love and appreciation of music to the next generation of musicians and creatives.
Theory
Nickalus has studied music theory as long as they have played piano. Gifted with a teacher who believed theory should be studied in hand with piano Nickalus has formed a great interest in theory, contemporary and modern, and how to pass on the pedagogy to the next musicians and theorists.
Composition
Nickalus' true love was always creating. As soon as they began playing piano and learning theory they were interested in creating their own sounds and not just reciting other's. Nickalus began taking formal composition lessons at 16. Afterwards, Nickalus diversified their interests and began learning modern production and compositional tools (Engraving software, Digital Audio Workspaces, midi and synth, etc.) in addition to the traditional tools.
